Improving Livelihood Resources of Fishing Communities of Bundewari (Allahna Gador ) Union Council Hubco District Lasbela, Balochistan

Largely, the fishermen of Balochistan are little aware about fish handling and its importance. Secondly, due to abject poverty, they cannot bear the expenses of perches Insulted Fish Storages Boxes in boats.
The EU experts identified the design of boats including storage boxes and post catch handling as major issues hindering the export of fish to EU countries. The existing fishing practices and post-catch handling will improve the quality of fish catch and subsequently improve the price of catch and reduction of poverty.
The project would facilitate and focus these fishermen and provide them to opportunity to Improve livelihood resources of local fishermen community by upgrading 55 small boats meeting EU standard with allied facilities including fish storage Boxes and capacity building of coastal area at district Lasbela of Balochistan. Enhance capacity of 50 local fishermen (Boat Holders) for “post-catch handling and storage to maintain fish quality” in accordance with EU standards. Create awareness about hygiene practices for maintaining quality in post-catch handling at Boat through 4 sessions, with each comprising around 25 local fishermen participants (100 participants).
